What films have you always wanted to "fix" -- not re-make, but movies you thought had tremendous potential but felt were wash-outs, ruined or nearly ruined when they didn't have to be, once you saw them?

What actors do you have a feeling are very often doing movies that you enjoy? That if these actors are in movies, it's almost a sure bet that you'll like it.

I am grading films on a filmsite, so I can just check there for statistics. Here are some of the actors that I apparently think are in many great movies;

Brad Pitt
Peter Sellers
Chiwetel Ejiofor
Uma Thurman
Tom Hanks
Jodie Foster
Al Pacino
David Dencik

Time to watch a Christmas movie: which one do you pop in the player?

What others do you like?

And what Christmas movies do you think stink like Santa's old boots?

Does anyone know anything about the rumored Freddie Mercury movie starring Sascha Baron Cohen? I've tried to look up info online and first it was supposedly due for a fall 2012 release, then 2013, now it's 2014. IMDB doesn't have a thing listed about it. I thought I found the "official" trailer but it was just some punk's idea of a joke. I'm really interested in this movie, having watched The Dictator recently and becoming a converted fan of Sascha. I do believe it's inspired casting, and think he's about the only known actor who could pull this one off. Any more details would be appreciated!

I loved "La Vie En Rose" and "Walk The Line".
Can anyone recommend other biographies with lots of tears and drama in it?

Anybody else like Bette as an actress.

I just spent a few days having a huge marathon of my fave Bette films.

Outrageous Fortune
Beaches
Down & Out in Beverly Hills
Ruthless People
Big Business

Love those films. My faves from her were all her eighties films. I of course also enjoyed Hocus Pocus & The First Wives Club & too.

I think she is one of those rare cases where a brilliant singer can be just as talented as an actress.

She is possibly my alltime fave actress and I just read her autobiography which I adored.

So many of her movies reach out and touch me like no others.

Peggy Sue Got Married (amazing)
Body Heat (intense)
Romancing the Stone (action packed)
Prizzi's Honor (classic)
VI Warshawski (underrated)

My fave is probably War of the Roses though its just such a fantastic film and Kathleen deserved a Best Actress Oscar for the role of Barbara Rose. She only got nominated once for Peggy Sue and sadly didn't win.

What movie did you just or most recently watch?

I watched Tobe Hooper's movie version of "Salem's Lot" on DVD.
